Na Ate Tuaz

Keywords: Tolkien, fantasy

The following translation is from an official Common translation of the famous Lord of the Rings books by J. R. R. Tolkien.

Original:

Three Rings for the Elven-kings under the sky,
Seven for the Dwarf-lords in their halls of stone,
Nine for Mortal Men doomed to die,
One for the Dark Lord on his dark throne
In the Land of Mordor where the Shadows lie.
One Ring to rule them all, One Ring to find them,
One Ring to bring them all and in the darkness bind them
In the Land of Mordor where the Shadows lie.

Notes:

Elf (elfy), drawf (tuarfy) and throne (zron) are just straight loans from English. Some other words were given Common equivalents, so 'paratca', 'director', for king, and 'jen', 'head', for lord. Mordor was just carried over straight without Commonising to 'Mortor'. The central verse is rendered as a regular Common declarative sentence.
