Spanja joined the NWO after a neo-Francoist government was overthrown in favour of a Globalist government, with significant intrigue from the NWO. From its capital in na Mazríz, it rules the entire Iberian peninsula, including Spain, Protugal and Andorra. Under neo-fascist and then NWO rule, Portuguese and other minority languages have significantly weakened, with Basque and Catalan disappearing entirely.

Spanish itself has lost relatively less ground to Common than is seen in wealthier states, although in order to weaken rebellion, the NWO did use forcible transportations of communities to weaken resistance and brought in immigrant communities to replace them, which through mixing has caused Common to gain ground.
