Common Lexeme

eni

Keywords: comparisons, sublatives, modifiers

Pronunciation (IPA): 'e.ni
Part of Speech: modifier
Class: tight binding, sublative
Forms: eni, eniy
Glosses: least, LL, at least

Description:

The tight binding modifier 'eno' is used to introduce 'least' sublative (oppostive of superlative) comparisons. See attached article for more information.

Adjective:

With nouns, eni always goes with the modifier or modifiers it binds to, immediately preceeding them..

Adverb:

As an adverb, the loose-binding form 'eniy' ['e.ni.ə] form comes into play. The superlative operator can introduce a thematic argument of the verb, directly modifier the verb, or directly modify another adverb. In the former two cases, 'eniy' is required so that it can take an object other than another modifier, and/or apply to the whole verb phrase.

Rhetorically, 'eniy' can have the sense of 'at least'.
