It does have roughly the same politicsl meaning as it does in English as a direct calque from English and other languages. As a modifier 'waselus', it means located to the left or moving to the left and can take an object in the nominative case which is the object to which the movement or position is relative. As a verb, it is a noxaj verb of motion taking an absolutive mover and a dative destination meaning 'to bear to the left'.
