The term Epáliheratkasyn specifically means a New World Order Dependency, i.e., a territory that is not formally a part of a State which is ruled and managed by a particular state. Dependencies used to be more common as a means of getting states to dominate neighbouring territories and eliminate rival sovereignties without making them liable legally for conditions in those territories.
