Description:

The state of na Mehiko occupies most of the territory of the former sovereign nation of Mexico, excluding Baja California, which was annexed by Cascadia, but including a significant portion of Texas north of the Rio Grande. It controls Guatemala as a dependency.

Mehiko today is a land of contrasts, with some centres which are modern and thriving, and other areas of the country which can barely be said to be under state control, especially in the south. The area has been very heavily hit by climate change, with frequent and severe water shortages, and an exceptionally storm-battered Gulf coast.

Na Mehiko represents North America's fifth largest population and sixth largest economy. It is the southernmost full state in North America. It joined the New World Order for the promise of open borders to address the country's urgent problems of mass starvation in the 21st century collapse, and overall declining agricultural productivity. Genetically engineered crops have helped allay the issues somewhat.

Because it is a historically compliant state with major net out migration, the Mehikan elite is relatively less Commonised with significant remaining Spanish influences, and Spanish is relatively healthy in the country compared to, say, Spain. However, the elite all speak Common, and Common is making significant inroads. Like everwhere else on earth, Mehiko is much more diverse than it was a hundred years ago - the difference is that Spanish is maintaining influence as a lingua franca.
