zilus

Keywords: colour

Pronunciation (IPA): 'θil.us
Part of Speech: modifier
Class: adjective, colour
Forms: zilus, zilusno
Glosses: white, 'Caucasian'

Description:

The modifier 'zilus' corresponds to the colour 'white'. It is more or less a one-for-one match with the English word. It can be applied to a number of pale shades that can be seen as white.

The word 'zilus' is also used to refer to 'white' people, in a straight calque from any number of languages that use this terminology, including English. After decades of interbreeding, population mixing and forceful suppression of racialist and nativist movements, racial terms like this simply don't carry the weight they used to. Referring to a person as belonging to a certain race is genenrally considered to be inherently racist in the NWO and is not done in polite company, but these sintiments still exist, and the word is used this way.

The tight binding form 'zilusno' is used to construct words for lighter shades of colours.
