pik
Keywords: internal conjunctions, mathematics
Pronunciation (IPA): | pik |
---|---|
Part of Speech: | conjunction |
Class: | internal |
Forms: | pik |
Glosses: | nor, and not, minus |
Description:
The internal conjunction pik is generally used with the tight binding modifier ik. Ik is applied to the first item in the sequence and then all subsequent items are connected with 'pik'. This ik/pik construction implies that none of its arguments are true in applying to the head term. As many elements as desired may be chained.
Mathematics:
In maths, 'pik' is used as the subtraction operator, with the object subtracted from the antecedent.
