Description:
'Taw' is an Old Common word that means a small, portable, internet-enabled, general-purpose computing device. It covers both mobiles and tablets - if necessary, a mobile can be differentiated as 'najt taw', 'pocket mobile', and a tablet can be differentiated as 'akpe taw', 'big mobile'. It is usually used as a noun, but in a verbal sense it can be a happat verb of communication, usually with the sense of using your taw to send someone a text message, although adverbs can be used to give the sense of voice ('wistes') and video ('fiteos'), A text message could be specified with 'cetys', but that's usually the default assumption.
The words 'fon and 'taw' are synonyms, the latter a loanword from English and the former an Old Common word. Both are used interchangeably, although differences in the preference for one or the other is a major regional or dialect marker in Common.
